NEW YORK (AP) -- The real name and age of a Somali teen brought to the U.S. last night to face piracy charges remain unclear.
He is described as the sole surviving pirate from the foiled hijacking of the Maersk Alabama. The incident ended when Navy snipers shot and killed three other pirates holding the ship's captain hostage on a lifeboat.
Court documents list teen's name as Abduhl Wali-i-Musi, but the boy's parents in Somalia says that's incorrect. They also say he is only 16.
U.S. authorities say he's at least 18, meaning prosecutors will not have to take extra legal steps to try him in a U.S. court.
Legal experts say the teen's age could factor into a sentence if he's convicted.

To me, it doesn't matter how old he is. What matters is his lust for gold and his love of rum. Arrr.
